Wide Receiver Tei Nacua Commits to BYU

The youngest Nacua brother will follow the paths of his older brothers and play for BYU. On Wednesday, Timpview standout wide receiver Tei Nacua committed to BYU. Nacua, who is listed at 6'2 and 170 pounds, possesses a lot of the same physical traits of his older brothers. He picked the Cougars over competing offers from Utah, Utah State, Washington State, San Diego State, and Hawaii.
As a senior at Timpview, Nacua racked up 974 receiving yards and 9 receiving touchdowns. His best performance of the season came in the semifinals against Olympus. He had 13 catches for 195 yards and a touchdown, and he had multiple receptions on the final drive to set up the game-winning field goal.
Nacua is the lone wide receiver commit of the 2024 class. He will, however, be joined by returning missionaries Dom McKenzie and Cody Hagen. Hagen, McKenzie, and Nacua are the three most recruited wide receivers from the state over the last three recruiting classes, and all of them will be on BYU's roster next season.
Those three, along with returning players like Jojo Phillips and Parker Kingston, appear to be the future of the wide receiver position at BYU. When veterans like Kody Epps, Chase Roberts, Keanu Hill, Darius Lassiter, and Keelan Marion graduate, BYU will have a young core of wide receivers ready to step in. Nacua is a big part of those plans.
