BYU Extends a Pair of Offers to Offensive Line Transfers

Next season, BYU's starting offensive line is firmly up in the air. The Cougars are projected to lose anywhere from two to four starters from the 2023 offensive line. While the Cougars are in the picture for highly-coveted high school recruit Ikanisio Tupou, BYU will need to add more linemen even if Tupou commits to the Cougars.
Finding the right transfer linemen will be critical to BYU's success next season - but that's easier said than done. Most schools in the country are trying to use the transfer portal to bolster their offensive lines. Recruiting battles for offensive linemen will be very competitive.
In the long term, BYU needs to do a better job of stocking talent from the high school ranks. That has slipped off over the last few years under Darrell Funk.
On Tuesday, BYU got an early start to transfer portal recruiting when they extended a pair of scholarship to two transfer linemen.
Easton Kilty
FCS veteran offensive lineman Easton Kilty, a transfer from North Dakota, received an offer from BYU on Tuesday. Speaking of competitive recruitments, Kilty is a great example. Kilty entered the portal on Monday and he is already getting a lot of attention in the transfer portal. He has already received competing offers from Virginia Tech, Purdue, NC State, Mississippi State, Oklahoma State, Auburn, and Texas Tech among others.
Kilty was a three-year starter for the Fighting Hawks. He started his career at tackle before moving inside to play guard.
Rod Green
JUCO offensive lineman Rod Green is the second best JUCO lineman in the 2024 class according to 247Sports. BYU offered Green on Tuesday. He holds competing offers from Purdue, Virginia Tech, Arizona State, Houston, and UTSA among many others.
