Pinging The Portal: UC Running Back Ethan Wright Enters Portal, Bearcats Bringing Northern Iowa Linebackers For Visit

In this story:
CINCINNATI — UC had a running back enter the transfer portal on Monday in veteran Ethan Wright. The safety turned rusher during his time in Clifton didn't see much action after dealing with injuries throughout the 2023 season.
He tallied just 24 snaps in 2023. That amounted to seven carries for 19 yards. Wright's been with the program since 2020 and is the 21st transfer this cycle—the most in the Big 12.

Moving to a couple of offers, Cincinnati is interested in Indiana running back and electric return man Jaylin Lucas.
Lucas posted 67 carries for 275 yards and two rushing scores in 2023 to go with 34 catches for 247 yards and another two TDs. It amounted to a 60.3 offensive PFF grade across 359 total offensive snaps. Lucas holds two more years of eligibility.
He also returned punts and kickoffs. The latter was a true sight to behold as he racked up 572 yards on 22 KO returns with a score and 14 yards on 10 punt returns. His 77.1 kickoff grade on PFF ranked 15th nationally.
He would be a fantastic boon to one of the worst return units in the country last season (63.1 team special teams grade, 12th-worst nationally).

Cincinnati also offered Northern Iowa linebacker Jahsiah Galven, who 247Sports's Allen Trieu reported has scheduled a visit to Clifton. He has three years of eligibility remaining.
Galven notched 67 tackles, one forced fumble, one interception, and three pass breakups this past season. He was fantastic across 635 snaps, posting an elite 81.2 PFF grade (31st nationally among linebackers).
UC transfer target Ayden Garnes also took a recent visit to UC and is going to make his decision on Dec. 20.
