Pinging The Portal: UC Offers Spark Up As Team Targets Linebacker, Cornerback, And Wide Receiver

In this story:
CINCINNATI — The portal offers are starting to flow in as Cincinnati football gets ready to add talent to the 2024 roster.
We start with an offer to JuCo linebacker Keaton Thomas out of Northeast Mississippi Community College.
The 19-year-old posted a whopping 107 tackles across nine games to go with 1.5 sacks and two interceptions.

Cincinnati is also targeting the receiver ranks in North Texas's Ja'Mori Maclin.
The shifty 5-foot-11, 183-pound talent posted 57 catches for 1,004 yards and 11 touchdowns in the AAC this past season. He's a second-time transfer, leaving Missouri after the 2020 season. Maclin earned a career-high 69.1 PFF grade in 2023.
He has two years of eligibility left.
Some major offers have come Maclin's way already from schools like LSU, Michigan State, and South Carolina.

The first round of portal offers closes with Western Kentucky cornerback Upton Stout.
The 5-foot-9, 185-pound playmaker posted 29 tackles, one interception, and one forced fumble. He has two years of eligibility remaining.
Stout was lights out in limited action this season, posting a career-high 81.2 PFF grade, including a 79.2 mark in coverage. He would be a nice addition to UC's secondary.
It's no surprise UC targeted the three weakest position groups on the team to kick off portal season.
