Ahmad 'Sauce' Gardner Named First-Team All-Pro For Second-Straight Season

The former Bearcats star has been dominant in the NFL.

CINCINNATI — Ahmad "Sauce" Gardner has done it again. The former Bearcats start cornerback was named an All-Pro for a second-straight season.

Gardner had 57 tackles (three for loss), 11 passes defensed and was ranked third among cornerbacks according to Pro Football Focus (88.6). He's quickly become one of the top defensive backs in the league and a key piece of the New York Jets organization. He also received the top coverage grade among cornerbacks (90.8).

"I love this game, I honor it so much," Gardner told Jets.com. "I always have fun when I am out there on the field. I don't think about all that other stuff when I am out there. As I said, if I am out there and the ball comes my way, don't let the guy catch the ball. If I can pick it, pick it. If I can't pick it, then just don't let the guy catch the ball."

Gardner was the fourth pick in the 2022 NFL Draft. He spent three years with the Bearcats, finishing with 99 tackles (5.5 for loss), nine interceptions and two touchdowns.

He is the first cornerback since the 1970 merger to make first-team All-Pro in their first two seasons.
