Weekly NET: Cincinnati Jumps Into Top-40 Nationally Ahead of Big 12 Conference Slate

Cincinnati should end its NCAA tournament drought if it goes .500 or better to close the season.

CINCINNATI — The new year is here as we take a gander at the first Weekly NET check-in of 2024. Cincinnati men's basketball is up five spots in the latest NET ranking to No. 37 nationally.

That is good for seventh in the Big 12 and has them sitting with a 66% chance to make the NCAA Tournament on TeamRankings as a nine seed.

If the Bearcats can get to 20 wins with a 9-9 conference record, then they should lock up a spot in the dance, no question. As few as 18 wins with a couple of marquee victories could be enough as well.

It starts with a clear minimum of two victories in the brutal opening six games of conference play. Every one of those matchups is a Quad 1 or Q2 game.
