Report: USC, UCLA Leaving Pac-12 for Big Ten
CINCINNATI — Another summer, another bombshell in college athletics. According to Pete Thamel, USC and UCLA are leaving the Pac-12 for the Big Ten as soon as 2024.
Jon Wilner broke the news earlier on Thursday, and Thamel confirmed that the move is now a "formality" for both schools. It's the second time in as many years that a pair of major schools announced they are leaving for more money in the Power Five structure.
Sources told ESPN the move is tied to television revenue disparity between the Pac-12 and the Big Ten/SEC. Oklahoma and Texas got the ball rolling on another round of major conference movement in a new era for college sports.
