CINCINNATI — Another high-end 2023 football recruit is heading to the Queen City. The Bearcats just landed a commitment from three-star defensive lineman Kamari Burns out of Gahanna Lincoln (Ohio) after he visited this past weekend.

According to On3 consensus, Burns is the 644th-ranked player in the class and the 83rd-ranked defensive lineman. He placed Cincinnati in his top-six schools last month alongside West Virginia, Pitt, Tennessee, Kentucky, and Indiana. The Bearcats ultimately won out following his official visit.

Cincinnati now has 18 recruits (second nationally behind Texas Tech) committed in this class and is on track to land in the Top-25 of the final 247Sports team rankings this winter for the first time ever.

The program is currently sitting at No. 6 with 197.38 points. That means they have surpassed the Class of 2020 for the highest-rated recruiting haul in team history.

Burns boasts a nasty meanstreak on tape. The 6-foot-5, 250-pound edge tweener plays with reckless force on every snap. He already utilizes a nice swim move as his main method to get in the back field. Pair that with high-level burst off the ball and you get a player that can already mix power and finesse into his attacking plan. Check out highlights from Burns here.
