Four-Star 2024 WR Brandon Heyward Vaults UC into Top-Eight Schools

The Bearcats are trying to nab the talented wide out.

CINCINNATI — One of UC's spring offers placed the school in their top-eight choices.

2024 four-star wide receiver Brandon Heyward out of Oak Ridge (Tennessee) is keeping UC in the running along with Missouri, Boston College, Michigan State, Tennessee, Mississippi State, Vanderbilt, and Kentucky.

According to 247Sports, Heyward is the 328th-ranked prospect in the class and the 48th-ranked athlete.

He held 17 offers but is down to eight schools. He lit the On3 predictor on fire with the announcement, as they had Arkansas and Lousiville with the two best chances to sign him. They didn't even get listed as UC (2.7% chance) and the others got the nod.

The 6-foot, 178-pound pass catcher is well-rounded on offense. Heyward can run a decent-sized route tree and makes nice catches at all three levels of the field. His speed didn't pop out in the clips I watched, but he is a fundamentally sound player with soft hands.

His willingness to block was a good sign. He plays through the whistle on blocking reps and can set the edge on a boundary corner. Check out his highlights here.
