CINCINNATI — The Bearcats are among the top-five schools for three-star 2024 edge rusher Kobe Smith out of Red Bank (Tennessee).

He tallied 56 tackles (13 for loss), and 6 sacks last season.

According to 247Sports, Smith is the 83rd-ranked edge rusher nationally and the 37th-best prospect in Tennessee.

App State, Stanford, Duke, and Vanderbilt make up his other top choices.

Smith brings plenty of it off the edge at 6-foot-3, 185 pounds. He'll have to keep adding weight over the next two years to get on the field quickly, but the baseline skills are there.

He is a great inside gap rusher that uses his quickness to access that fast path to ball carriers. Smith also showed a great nose for turnovers in the plays I saw, ripping the ball loose for fumbles a few times. The initial step and overall quickness are hard to teach.
