Florida State favored over Clemson in the ACC

Caesars Sportsbook has the Seminoles as the odds on favorites to win the ACC in 2023.

We are just 85 days away from the return of ACC football. Wake Forest will be the first team from the conference to take the field when they welcome Elon to town on Thursday, August 31st. The rest of the conference will then be spread out on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, with Clemson and Duke wrapping up the week on Monday night.

Just 85 short days away from starting the race to see if Clemson can hold onto their seat on the ACC throne. According to at least one sportsbook, the Tigers won't be favored to do so.

Per Caesars Sportsbook - one of the oldest and most prominent gambling companies in the world - Florida State, not Clemson, is the favorite to win the ACC in 2023. Caesars has the 'Noles at +160 to win the title, with the Tigers coming in at +180.

Odds to win the ACC Title via Caesars Sportsbook

  • Florida State +160
  • Clemson +180
  • Louisville +650
  • North Carolina +800
  • Miami +1400
  • NC State +1600
  • Pitt +2500
  • Duke +3000
  • Wake Forest +5000
  • Virginia Tech +8000
  • Syracuse +8000
  • Georgia Tech +125000
  • Boston College +150000
  • Virginia +150000

It's not hard to see why so many are hopping on the FSU bandwagon. Mike Norvell was able to orchestrate a season that started with a win over LSU in New Orleans and finished with a bowl win a 10-3 record. The Seminoles return a ton of talent from that 10-win team, including starting quarterback Jordan Travis.

With that said, they'd have to likely beat a very good Clemson team twice to win the title. The ACC will not play with divisions moving forward, instead opting to send the two schools with the best records to Charlotte for the title game. So even if Florida State can somehow upset Clemson in Death Valley on September 23rd, they'd likely see them again in Charlotte.

Interestingly enough, Florida State hasn't beaten Clemson since 2014, the same year they won their last ACC Title.
