RGIII Calls Clemson a "SERIOUS" National Championship Contender

There's been a lot of talk from various pundits across the country about what the expectations should be for the Clemson Tigers this coming football season. Despite recent struggles, especially offensively, there is one prominent commentator from ESPN who feels the recent changes made by Dabo Swinney will result in exactly the kind of season fans are hoping for in 2023.

Robert Griffin III, posted a video clip on Twitter of him speaking on College Football Today from the NFL Draft in Kansas City where he was asked about a potential surprise team in the ACC. He spoke passionately on his outlook for this new Tigers squad and its updated offensive philosophy. The caption of the tweet read, "Clemson will be a SERIOUS National Championship Contender this year because Dabo Swinney realized the offense was ARCHAIC and stepped out of his comfort zone to fix it."

The former Baylor quarterback elaborated in the video, starting out by saying, "Dabo Swinney realized that his offense was archaic and he went outside of his system, went and got a young offensive mind in Garrett Riley from TCU and now they're going to be able to build a system with the perfect quarterback for that system in Cade Klubnik."

The praise continued as it's clear that one great quarterback sees potential greatness in Clemson's new man. "I've known Cade Klubnik for a very long time," Griffin said. "He attended my quarterback academy that I run at Baylor and he just has a thing about him that draws people into him and he gets the best out of them."

Griffin finished his hype for the program by telling his fellow analysts that, "I'm very excited for them. I think that this is a growth moment for Dabo Swinney who always tends to promote from within so I think Clemson will actually shock the nation and be in the running for a national championship."
