First weekend of June will be huge for Clemson

In this story:
As the last few years have proven, things change quickly in the world of college football. Playoff systems, rules, transfers, coaching changes, and conference realignment, all examples of the ever-evolving nature of the sport.
One thing that hasn't changed is the importance of recruiting, but the way recruiting works certainly has. We used to see the top prospects wait until February of their senior season to commit, usually on national tv with some kind of prop. Now, the top high school players in the country, for the most part, want their commitments wrapped up prior to their senior seasons.

There are a few reasons for this. First off, it takes a big decision off of their plates and allows them to enjoy their final year of high school ball. For the most part, they'll be heading to their respective colleges in January, so it gives them time to set that up as well. Additionally, it gives the players time to market themselves to their new fanbases, building their followings across social media platforms. For example, Dylan Raiola, the No. 1 quarterback in the 2024 class committed to Georgia on May 15th. He gained 2,161 new Twitter followers over the next two days. Finally, and maybe most importantly, committing early allows the players to start recruiting other highly-touted players to their teams.
This is why the first weekend in June will be so crucial for Clemson. Per 247Sports.com, the Tigers will welcome 17 top recruits for official visits from June 2nd-3rd, including 4 5-stars. Last year, two of Clemson's biggest prospects, Vic Burley and Peter Woods committed following visits to Clemson in June. Burley in June and Woods in July. Dabo Swinney and company are banking on similar results this summer.
