Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has staked his reputation on talent, and let it be known that he's keeping an eye on Boulder. The league's most respected owner got a moment with Shilo and Shedeur Sanders at NFL Honors this past week, and told them he would be "happy" if they returned home via Well Off Media

It only seems fitting to have both Sanders brothers back where they grew up and where their father made an impact in his playing career. If that were to happen, we would witness the end of the Dak Prescott era for the Cowboys. Jones took over in Dallas the same year Sanders was drafted by the Atlanta Falcons in 1989 for $150 million. He became the first owner in NFL history to lead his team to three Super Bowl titles in his first seven years of ownership.

However, the storied franchise hasn't won a championship since Sanders was on the roster in 1996. It has caused friction with Jones sending a clear message to his players after another loss in the playoffs saying, "We got to win, this is the Dallas Cowboys." There's very little doubt Dallas needs a "few good Sanders" on their roster.

The Sanders family stole the show at NFL Honors with a few great moments. Jones wasn't the only NFL owner they made contact with prior to the ceremony. Shilo told Arthur Blank he wanted his father's old number in Atlanta. Shedeur also let the NFL's CMO Tim Ellis know he was coming in next year's draft class. They all gathered around Roger Goodell before the night was over with Coach Prime telling the commissioner he wanted to bring his nephew with him to Colorado.

It's business as usual back in Boulder with Sanders and the Buffs continuing offseason conditioning drills. They'll have two months before the Black and Gold Spring game on April 27. The transfer portal will open back up before the start of fall camp. Coach Prime's second season starts on Aug. 31 when CU hosts North Dakota State.
