Colorado Buffaloes coach Deion Sanders stood up for one of the best players in today's era over the weekend. Stephon Gilmore and his sons visited Coach Prime during the NFL free agency period and made it clear he wants to be in Dallas. Sanders even called out Jerry Jones in the process.

“I got a Special visit today from a Future HOF’er and his sons, Stephon Gilmore!!!! Dallas Stop Playing," Sanders wrote on Instagram.

Gilmore enters his 13th year in the league with a stout resume. The former NFL All-Pro, Defensive Player of the Year and Super Bowl champion had a career-high 68 tackles, 13 PDUs and two interceptions in his first year with the Cowboys. He could be the veteran playmaker America's Team needs to solidify the secondary.

Jones got a chance to catch up with Sanders and his sons at NFL Honors this year. Coach Prime's former boss told Shilo and Shedeur Sanders he would enjoy having a new generation of "PrimeTime" on the Cowboys roster in 2025. It was one of the many highlights leading up to Super Bowl LVIII, along with Prime telling Roger Goodell that he wanted to bring his nephew with him to Colorado.

If Gilmore re-signs with the Cowboys, he would be the third All-Pro in the rotation at cornerback. Time will tell if Sanders' influence pays off or not. Ultimately, Jones could pass up the opportunity to have Gilmore return and let him test the market to be with a contender.
