The "Prime Effect" is coming to famed NFL stadium this year

With the 2024 football schedule being released on Tuesday, the Big 12 made it official by announcing that Colorado will play Kansas for a pre-Thanksgiving affair at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City on Nov. 23.

The University of Kansas' leadership team moved all home games away from Lawrence, which is about 50 miles west from Kansas City, while construction on a new stadium continues through next year. The shift adds 29K seats for the game and could become a marquee event at the home of the defending Super Bowl champs, which is an eight-hour drive from Boulder.

Deion Sanders says Travis Kelce is HIM after first touchdown in AFC Championship

Arrowhead Stadium was the site of the Big 12 championship game in the 2000s. Colorado's last game there resulted in a 42-3 loss to Oklahoma in 2004. The facility has a seating capacity of over 76,000, making it the 25th-largest stadium in the United States and the fourth-largest in the NFL. Missouri's largest sports complex is currently behind Metlife Stadium in New York, AT&T Stadium in Dallas, and Lambeau Field in Green Bay. This will be the second-largest venue to host the Buffaloes during Coach Prime's tenure. Colorado played UCLA at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena last year.

Deion Sanders has unique ties to the Kansas City Chiefs. The Hall-of-Famer has called Travis Kelce his "little brother" and says he frequently texts Andy Reid during the season. Prime played at Arrowhead twice in his career with the last time happening thirty years ago as a member of the San Francisco 49ers.
