Why Isn't Mel Tucker Saying What's Wrong with Laviska Shenault?

The latest reports are that Colorado's Laviska Shenault, Chris Miller and Mustafa Johnson will be game-time decisions this week against Arizona.

But there's something different about Shenault's injury: Colorado isn't saying what it is.

That's not unusual in college football. Most coaches don't like to disclose injuries, but some do, and they include CU coach Mel Tucker ... usually.

Colorado says Miller is out with a sprained knee, Johnson is out with a sprained ankle and Shenault is out with (undisclosed).

So, clearly it is not Colorado's policy to withhold injury information. It's telling us the exact injuries of two other players. But when it comes to Shenault, the preseason Heisman candidate, we're left in the dark.

It sounds like I'm driving at some sort of conspiracy. The truth is, I have no actual idea why CU would be doing that. Could be that the nature of the injury is embarrassing for Shenault (hemorrhoids?), could be gamesmanship, could be that Shenault is not injured at all and Tucker is trying to cover for some other reason he might not play this week.

We just don't know. And it's weird.
