Tennessee State Names Tyler Roehl Offensive Coordinator

Tennessee State officially named Tyler Roehl as the offensive coordinator and associate head coach for the Tigers. Roehl has spent the past 11 seasons at North Dakota State in multiple different roles.

Roehl served as the offensive coordinator for the past five seasons after coaching the running backs and tight ends from 2014-18. With Roehl as the offensive coordinator, the Bison won two FCS National Championships and led the nation in rushing touchdowns for three consecutive seasons. Roehl has won seven FCS National Championships and eight conference titles over his 11 seasons with the Bison.

Tyler Roehl Named Offensive Coordinator At Tennessee State

"My family and I couldn't be more excited to join TSU because of the people, the vision, and the opportunity to positively impact the community and team," said Roehl via a statement released by the university. "We are going to Nashville on a mission to do things at a championship level daily."

Roehl received a spot in the AFCA's 35 Under 35 Coach Leadership Institute in 2020. He was an All-American running back for the Bison (2004-08), in which he finished his career as the eighth-leading rusher in school history. 

SEMO Wide Receiver Ryan Flournoy Accepts Senior Bowl Invite

SEMO wide receiver Ryan Flournoy has officially accepted an invite to play in the 2024 Reese's Senior Bowl in Mobile, Alabama. Flournoy received invites to play in the Hula Bowl and East-West Shrine Bowl, but opted to play in the Senior Bowl. 

Flournoy earned first-team Big South-OVC All-Conference honors in back-to-back seasons. He recorded 118 receptions for 1,823 receiving yards and 13 receiving touchdowns in 22 games for the Redhawks. He was named a Preseason FCS All-American ahead of the 2023 season.

Flournoy is only the second player in SEMO history to participate in the Senior Bowl, joining wide receiver Paul McRoberts (2016). He will also join South Dakota State running back Isaiah Davis, Houston Christian linebacker Jalyx Hunt, and New Hampshire running back Dylan Laube as FCS representatives in Mobile this year. 

North Alabama WR Takairee Kenebrew Announces Return For 2024 Season

North Alabama wide receiver Takairee Kenebrew announced he will return for his final season in 2024. It will be his seventh season with the Lions after missing the 2019-20 seasons with an injury and redshirting his freshman season in 2018.

Kenebrew earned second-team All-Conference honors last season after leading the Lions with 42 receptions for 669 receiving yards and 10 receiving touchdowns. Over his career, Kenebrew totaled 98 receptions for 1,838 receiving yards, and 26 touchdowns.

Kenebrew passed Dre Hall as the all-time leader in receiving touchdowns this season against Florida State. He also tied the single-season record for receiving touchdowns this season. He signed with North Alabama out of Childersburg High School, where he earned All-State honors as senior with 21 receiving touchdowns.

Old Dominion LB Malcolm Britt Transfers To Norfolk State

Former Old Dominion linebacker Malcolm Britt announced his commitment to Norfolk State on Monday. He will have two years of eligibility remaining as a graduate transfer for the Spartans. 

Britt spent three seasons with the Monarchs, including his redshirt season in 2021. He saw action in 18 games, recording 11 total tackles. He had a career-high five total tackles against Appalachian State in 2022. 

Britt signed with Old Dominion as a three-star prospect out of Chesapeake, Virginia in the class of 2020. He was the No. 121 outside linebacker and No. 35 player in the state of Virginia, according to the 247Sports composite rankings
