3-star defensive lineman Jowhar Franklin commits to Grambling State

Three-star defensive lineman Jowhar Franklin announced his commitment to Grambling State on Tuesday. He committed to the Tigers over offers from Miami, Ohio State, Texas A&M, Texas, Clemson, and multiple other Power-Five programs.
The 6-foot-6, 300-pound defensive tackle is from Riverdale High School in New Orleans, Louisiana. He is the No. 68 player in Louisiana and the No. 194 defensive lineman in the class of 2024, according to On3 Sports.
This season, Franklin totaled 60 tackles, 23 tackles for loss, 25 sacks, four pass breakups, and three forced fumbles as a senior. He totaled seven sacks over the first two games of the season.
Franklin joins three-star ATH Byron Eaton in the 2024 class for the Tigers. Franklin is a massive defensive addition for head coach Hue Jackson as Grambling State ranks last in the SWAC in rushing defense this season.
