Blue-Chip DE Pledge Schedules Official Visit To FSU Football, Three Other Programs

The list of official visits includes a trip to the school that the talented recruit was previously committed to.

Florida State pulled off a massive victory on the recruiting trail when the program flipped four-star defensive end Javion Hilson from Alabama in January. It was evident from the beginning that the Seminoles would have to fend off other schools around the country to eventually earn his signature during the Early Signing Period.

The good thing is that Hilson has already been in Tallahassee twice since his pledge to FSU and he's got plans to keep returning to campus. According to his social media, he's locked in four official visits that are set to occur this summer with the Seminoles getting the chance to make the final impression.

Hilson has scheduled trips to Florida (May 31), Alabama (June 7), UCF (June 14), and Florida State (June 21). The visit to the Crimson Tide is probably the most notable since that was the school that the top 50 prospect was previously committed to prior to Nick Saban's retirement. New head coach Kalen DeBoer has been aggressive on the recruiting trail and the transfer portal to restore what the Crimson Tide have lost.

The Florida native has developed into arguably the top edge recruit in the 2025 class following a standout season with Cocoa High School. He totaled 94 tackles, 27 tackles for loss, 14 sacks, three forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, and two pass deflections as a junior and was a huge reason why the Tigers won the state title for the second straight year.

Hilson is one of the crown jewels of Florida State's #Tribe25 class that ranks No. 24 in the country. The Seminoles only hold four commitments but that number is expected to grow by the summer.

The 6-foot-3.5, 225-pound defensive end is regarded as the No. 35 overall prospect, the No. 1 EDGE, and the No. 5 recruit in the state of Florida in the 2025 class according to 247Sports.
