The Florida State Seminoles haven't struggled to recruit wide receivers since Tim Harris Jr. arrived in town following the conclusion of the 2024 season.

Harris Jr. has landed multiple blue-chip prospects that could make an impact next fall, including sophomore Jayvan Boggs, true freshman Devin Carter, and true freshman Jasen Lopez.

FSU is hoping to keep four-star wide receiver Jabari Watkins close to home. The rising senior out of Thomasville was previously committed to Nebraska but reopened his recruitment in December.

The Seminoles jumped at the opportunity, hosting Watkins twice since January. He's also scheduled to officially visit FSU this summer.

On Thursday, Watkins trimmed his recruitment down to six programs. Florida State made the cut alongside Louisville, Georgia Tech, Kentucky, Arkansas, and Wake Forest.

During his junior season at Thomas County Central, Watkins was a starter on a team that went 15-0 and won a state title. He caught 55 passes for 847 yards and 11 touchdowns.

Watkins was a teammate of Florida State defensive end signee Cam Brooks, who is expected to miss the season due to an Achilles injury. The two could reunite in garnet and gold.

The 6-foot-2, 180-pound wide receiver is regarded as the No. 224 overall prospect, the No. 29 WR, and the No. 26 recruit in Georgia in the 2027 class according to the 247Sports Composite Ratings.
