The state of Florida State's offensive line has been a constant thorn in the side of the fanbase for the better part of a decade.

Though the Seminoles went down a rocky road in 2025, one of the bright spots was in the trenches. Despite replacing all five starters, new offensive line coach Herb Hand fielded a capable group.

FSU had the most improved offense in the country and didn't allow a sack in three games. Hand will have to do it again next fall, relying on a large crop of transfers and some returning players who could also get into the mix.

So far, Hand's ability to mold talent and put the pieces together have given no cause for concern. However, it can never hurt to have another blue-chip recruit in the room.

Hand has secured two blue-chip prospects from the prep level over the last two cycles; four-star Mario Nash Jr. and four-star Chastan Brown. Nash Jr. transferred earlier this year, while Brown remains with the Seminoles for his redshirt freshman season.

Florida State and Hand are in the mix for one of the top offensive linemen in the 2027 class.

Four-star interior offensive lineman Jatori Williams was recently on campus for one of the Seminoles' spring practice.

Williams trimmed his recruitment down to five on Thursday. FSU made the cut alongside Miami, Georgia, Auburn and Kentucky.

The Seminoles have been pursuing Williams for over a year. He's made it to campus multiple times, including for the season-opening win against Alabama last fall. Williams will officially visit Florida State from June 12-14.

The 6-foot-5, 320-pound offensive lineman is regarded as the No. 97 overall prospect, the No. 7 IOL, and the No. 3 recruit in Alabama in the 2027 class according to the 247Sports Composite Ratings.
