Florida State is turning its disappointment from the College Football Playoff snub into relentlessness as the program hits the NCAA Transfer Portal to strengthen its roster for another run. Since the calendar turned to January, the Seminoles have gone on a run of transfer additions.

That continued on Tuesday afternoon as West Virginia defensive end transfer Tomiwa Durojaiye announced that he was continuing his college career in Tallahassee. He's coming off a campaign where he began to display his vast potential, recording 23 tackles, six tackles for loss, and 3.5 sacks while appearing in all 13 of the Mountaineers’ games. Durojaiye will have three seasons of eligibility remaining.

There is certainly still some inconsistency in his performance to be addressed. Durojaiye recorded four tackles for loss and three sacks in West Virginia’s first five games. Following that, he had a stretch of seven games where he failed to record a sack. It is worth noting that he wasn’t a starter so his reps were somewhat sporadic. He didn’t earn 30+ snaps until the final contest of the season.

Durojaiye spent his freshman season at Kentucky after signing with the Wildcats as a three-star prospect. He enrolled early and ended up appearing in three games while redshirting. Durojaiye chose to enter the portal following the spring and landed at West Virginia.

The Philadelphia native spent his prep career at Middletown High School in Delaware. He was selected to the All-State First-Team during his junior and senior seasons. Durojaiye totaled 58 tackles, 25.5 tackles for loss, ten sacks, two forced fumbles, and two pass breakups as a senior and was named the 2021 Delaware 3A Defensive Player of the Year by the Delaware Interscholastic Football Coaches Association.

Durojaiye is ranked as the No. 133 overall prospect and the No. 14 defensive lineman in the transfer portal. The 6-foot-4, 280-pound defensive lineman was regarded as the No. 985 overall prospect, the No. 131 DL, and the No. 3 recruit in the state of Delaware in the 2022 class according to 247Sports.

Florida State adds Durojaiye to a room that includes redshirt junior Patrick Payton, redshirt junior Byron Turner Jr., redshirt junior Jaden Jones, junior Marvin Jones Jr., redshirt sophomore Aaron Hester, redshirt freshman Lamont Green Jr, and true freshman DD Holmes. Walk-on Dante Anderson has also earned playing time at different junctures.

Durojaiye is the ninth transfer to join the Seminoles since December. The program has also added former Georgia defensive end Marvin Jones Jr, former Oregon State/Clemson quarterback DJ Uiagalelei, former LSU wide receiver Jalen Brown, former Alabama cornerback Earl Little Jr., former Colorado State defensive tackle Grady Kelly, former Indiana running back Jaylin Lucas, former Miami defensive back Davonte Brown, and former Alabama wide receiver Malik Benson over the last few weeks.
