FSU Football Linebacker DJ Lundy Confirms Return To Tallahassee In 2024

Lundy issued a message on social message as he prepares to finish his college career at Florida State.

Florida State linebacker DJ Lundy has confirmed that he'll be returning to Tallahassee in 2024. The rising redshirt senior entered the NCAA Transfer Portal and committed to the Colorado Buffaloes on Christmas Day.

However, Lundy chose to withdraw his name from the portal on Wednesday afternoon. Shortly after the news broke, he took to social media to share a message as he prepares to finish what he started at Florida State.

"FOREVER a FSU Seminole, appreciation to all the schools who reached out but this is where I’m destined to be.. START to FINISH with the teammates and coaches I LOVE."

Lundy is currently tabbed to be Florida State's most experienced linebacker on the roster with Kalen DeLoach and Tatum Bethune moving on. The Seminoles are expecting him to play a pivotal role on defense after his contributions over the last couple of years.

The Georgia native has appeared in 45 games, with 17 starts, and totaled 183 tackles, 16.5 tackles for loss, five sacks, one forced fumble, eight pass deflections, and one interception during his four years with the Seminoles. He recorded a career-high six tackles for loss, two sacks, and his lone interception at the college level in 2023.

Outside of Lundy, Florida State has redshirt sophomore Omar Graham Jr., sophomore Blake Nichelson, sophomore Justin Cryer, redshirt freshman DeMarco Ward, true freshman Timir Hickman-Collins, and true freshman Jayden Parrish on scholarship at linebacker.
