NFL 2024 Mock Draft: FSU Football Earns Two Top-Ten Picks

In this story:
Florida State is due for a huge football season. They're building off a 10-3 campaign and have championship aspirations for the 2023 season, which kicks off with training camp at the beginning of August.
The team is compiled with plenty of NFL talent, and could have lost Johnny Wilson and Jared Verse to the draft after their strong 2022 seasons, but both opted to play out another year with hopes to bring some more hardware to Tallahassee.
NFL Draft Analyst Charlie Campbell projects both Wilson and Verse to be selected within the top ten picks of the 2024 NFL Draft.
Verse, who was projected to be the top pick of the draft in another mock, goes to the Arizona Cardinals with pick No. 2 in this projection.
The Cardinals have a star quarterback in Kyler Murray, and they will be able to add talent around him over time, but with the opportunity to take a difference-maker on the defensive line, they should do it.
Verse had both the second-most sacks and tackles for loss in the ACC last season. He had 48 tackles, 17 tackles for loss, and nine sacks in 2022 and showed why he was a top-ranked transfer.
In this mock, the Seminoles get two top-ten picks, though, as Wilson goes to the Chicago Bears with pick No. 7 in the draft.
"Chase Claypool is looking like a regrettable trade for Chicago. He is a free agent after the 2023 season, and the Bears could let him go while adding a playmaker for Justin Fields," Campbell wrote of the potential selection.
Fields is an incredible dual-threat quarterback, and adding a receiver with the capabilities of Wilson, who's 6-foot-7, adds another layer of versatility to the Bears' offense.
After two seasons with Arizona State, Wilson had a breakout season with the Seminoles following his transfer to Tallahassee. He racked up 897 receiving yards and five touchdowns on 43 receptions.
If the Seminoles end up with two top-ten picks when the NFL Draft rolls around next year, one can assume that the season went pretty well for the squad.
