The New York Jets have elected to select Johnson with the No. 26 overall pick after trading with the Tennessee Titans. He'll instantly bolster a defense that was in dire need of an edge-rusher. The Minnesota native has the skillset to be an every-down player at the professional level, possessing the tools to get after the passer and set the edge against the run.
Johnson joins a prestigious group with his selection in the first round. He's the 46th first-round pick in Florida State program history.

The #Jets trade up to No. 26 and finally, #FSU edge rusher Jermaine Johnson goes. He lands in NY. They considered him at their earlier spots, now get him at 26. Terms: 26 and 101 for 35, 69 and 163

Not sure why Jermaine Johnson slid in the draft, but this is a great pick. Florida State coaches could not say enough great things about him - starting with his work ethic and leadership in the locker room. His talent is obvious.

The Jets came away with 3 of my Top 9 players! Thought Jermaine Johnson was in the mix for them at 10, there he was at 26. They're cooking with gas!

Jermaine Johnson is the less hyped Aidan Hutchinson. Talented, has a plan when he rushes, plays like his hair is on fire and strong against the run. Absolute STEAL for the Jets at 26.

Credit where credit is due - the Jets killed it in the #NFLDraft tonight.

Sauce Gardner is a shut down corner, Garrett Wilson is gonna be an incredible asset to a young QB and Jermaine Johnson is a beast. Really good draft for them.
Albert Breer
The Jets land CB Sauce Gardner, WR Garrett Wilson and DE Jermaine Johnson in the first round—I'm told those three were ALL in the Top 10 on New York's board.

GM Joe Douglas had a very, very good night. At least on paper.
