Florida State Offensive Players to Watch In Orange Bowl

It's game week and there are some names to know from The Seminoles offense with the loads of opt outs for them.

It's game week and the No. 6 Georgia Bulldogs are traveling to South Florida to take on the No. 5 Florida State Seminoles in the Orange Bowl. The Seminoles have had loads of opt outs from their team heading into this New Year's Six bowl game. With that being said, let's take a look at some of the offensive players to watch for the Seminoles.

Mike Norvell will be turning to his third-string quarterback as he did in the ACC Championship game with an injured Jordan Travis and Tate Rodemaker entering the transfer portal and thus opting out for Saturday. Brock Glenn will start for the Seminoles. Glenn has seen some reps this season, but had his first career start against Louisville, where he was sacked four times leading to a final stat line of eight completions on 21 passes for 55 yards. Glenn has his opportunity to show how he can lead the undefeated ACC Champions into the future.

His task won't be easy though, and following a game where he was sacked four times, he will have a couple new offensive lineman to protect him this Saturday. With four of their offensive linemen hitting the transfer portal with three running backs leaving as well, the Dawgs will be looking to take advantage of this. A new left guard and right tackle are expected to start in this game with a new running back too.

Mike Norvell's team has also seen their two leading receivers opt out of the game in order to prepare for the NFL Draft and their top tight end. Norvell will turn too tight end Kyle Morlock and wide receiver Ja'khi Douglas. Morlock was Jaheim Bell's backup throughout the year, but is the Seminoles fourth-leading receiver, hauling in 19 catches for 255 yards and an average of 13.4 yards per catch while Douglas played slot for Florida State and has caught 12 passes for 230 yards with an impressive 115-yard game against Pitt, but it seems the slot receiver will be getting the start at running back with Caziah Holmes this weekend according to Florida State’s depth chart that was released on Tuesday

With 16% of their roster from the 2023 regular season no longer a part of the team, the No. 5 Florida State Seminoles will look extremely different this Saturday in the Orange Bowl against the No. 5 Georgia Bulldogs, with kickoff slated for 4 p.m.
