What Does Georgia's Secondary Room Look Like Following Travaris Robinson Hire?

Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs have picked off another piece from Alabama's secondary room, and have bolstered their coaching staff in one specific area.

Following the Nick Saban retirement and Kalen DeBoer hire at Alabama, the Georgia Bulldogs have stolen two pieces from Tuscaloosa. Yesterday they landed Jake Pope, a safety transfer from the Tide who was KJ Bolden's teammate at Buford.

Saturday, they hired Travaris Robinson as their co-defensive coordinator and safeties coach, which was Will Muschamp's position. Muschamp will remain in Athens though, as he is moving into an off-field defensive analyst role, where he originally started when joining the staff in 2021. So what does this mean for Georgia's secondary room, and what will it look like in 2024?

As mentioned before, Muschamp will become an analyst with Robinson being the safeties coach, but this isn't the only secondary hire since the Fran Brown departure, as the Bulldogs hired Donte Williams from USC who will coach the cornerbacks.

All three of these staff moves helped the Bulldogs in one area that Brown was exceptional at, recruiting. Between Kirby Smart, Muschamp, Robinson, and Willaims, there have been a total of 29 total five-star commitments. Williams has helped bring a solid piece from USC's team to Georgia for next season, but the attention has now turned to Robinson.

Though no official statement has been made by one of Robinson's highest-rated recruits, there is a lot of noise surrounding Caleb Downs and the possibility of him transferring from Alabama. If the news does break that Downs will be leaving the Tide, the Bulldogs will become an immediate team to look at for a potential landing spot.

Nevertheless, Georgia's secondary room is in tremendous hands not only on the field but off the field also as Smart and his staff were out on the recruiting trail yesterday and are hosting a load of prospects for a visit this weekend.
