Overall Georgia Players to Watch Versus UAB Tonight

Another weekend of Georgia Bulldogs football has arrived as the Dawgs will be between the hedges for a fourth straight week. Tonight, Georgia has lots of players overall to watch versus the UAB Blazers.
Special teams
Although widely unrecognized as being a major momentum shift in games, the field goal unit has left points on the field this season more often than not. Six points were left on the field against South Carolina which would’ve helped make the offense more comfortable and get in a rhythm quicker. As a special team player, kicker, or long snapper, your sole purpose on the field is to be perfect and alleviate pressure from the offense and defense. The Bulldogs’ field goal unit has left nine points on the field. At this point in the season, that number should not be that high, but they still have time to clean it up. Saturday night is the night to do so without too much pressure.
Secondary Room
Another week that Glenn Schumann’s secondary will likely be tested. Last week the squad had Spencer Rattler and came away with two interceptions late to help seal their victory. The UAB Blazer passing attack has averaged 318.7 passing yards per game and 443.7 total yards per game. The Blazers provide another test for the secondary before they move further into SEC play and have to play against the presumed superior offenses moving forward through the SEC slate.
Daijun Edwards
The running back room seems to grow slimmer and slimmer by the day. In the latest injury report, Kendall Milton and Roderick Robinson were both listed as questionable but likely limited for this game. That will leave the hall in Edward's hands who just capped off his first career 100-yard rushing game against South Carolina. A majority of the touches will be shared between him and Cash Jones, expect another breakout day from Edwards.
As a whole, the Blazers won’t test Georgia in too many areas. But, with their passing defense, redzone offense, and a field goal unit that looks subpar thus far compared to Georgia's standards, Kirby Smart will definitely use this game as a tune-up before the face the Auburn Tigers next week.
