Georgia Tech was looking to remain undefeated today and sweep another weekend series, this time against Tennessee Tech

The Yellow Jackets took the first two games from Tennessee Tech thanks to the offense getting hot at the right time and the bullpen being strong. Stephen Reid, Angelo Dispigna, and Jack Rubenstein all hit home runs yesterday, with two of them coming in the 8th inning and sealing the game for GT.

Logan McGuire was shaky to start yesterday's game, but Aeden Finateri, Cody Carwill, and Terry Busse closed the game out strong and made sure that Tennessee Tech did not make a late push.

Jackson Finley started on the mound for Georgia Tech today and here is the starting lineup that Georgia Tech used today:

1. CF- Jake DeLeo

2. IF- Angelo Dispigna

3. RF- Stephen Reid

4. 1B- John Geisler

5. C- Jack Rubenstein

6. 2B- Nicholas Romano

7. DH- Jackson Finley

8. SS- Demitri Diamant

9. 3B- Nico Senese

Tennessee Tech started the game off with a pair of singles and then an error from Georgia Tech gave Tennessee Tech the bases loaded with just one out. A sacrifice fly put the Golden Eagles up 1-0 and then an RBI single made it 2-0. Finley loaded the bases again and a two-RBI single made it 4-0. It was a tough start for Finley, but it was only the first inning and Georgia Tech had plenty of time to make up the ground.

Georgia Tech was unable to do much in the bottom of the 1st. DeLeo reached after being hit by a pitch and then stole second, but was out on a fielder's choice and that took away Georgia Tech's best chance to score any runs off the table.

It was an easy 1-2-3 inning for Finley and that was needed after a tough first inning.

After a Romano single, Finley made up for his poor pitching performance in the first inning with a two-run home run to cut the lead to 4-2.

That was all the Yellow Jackets were able to do for the 2nd inning, but it was a good start.

Finley gave up a leadoff walk and then a single, but a double play and then a strikeout sent the game to the bottom of the 3rd.

Dispigna had a great two first games in the series and he continued that today in the bottom of the 3rd with a leadoff solo home run to cut the lead to 4-3. It was the second home run of the day for the Yellow Jackets and his third in three days.

Finley gave up a leadoff single to Turner and then he advanced to third after a couple of ground outs. An error allowed Garza to reach and Turner to score to expand on their lead and make it 5-3.

Finley continued his good day at the plate in the bottom of the 4th with a leadoff double. That was followed by a walk from Diamant and then Senese was hit by a pitch to load the bases up for Georgia Tech with no outs. DeLeo hit a sac fly to make it 5-4. Senese would then steal second and then Dispigna walked to load the bases up again. However, Reid and Geisler both popped out and the inning was over.

Finley would stay at DH, but his day on the mound was over. Josiah Siegel came into relief Finley and made quick work in the 5th, even giving up a double.

Rubenstein led off with a single and then Romano walked. A single from Finley loaded up the bases and Georgia Tech had another chance to take the lead. Diamant tied the game with a sac fly to make it 5-5, but Senese struck out after that. With two outs, DeLeo came through with a clutch two-RBI double to take a 7-5 lead, Georgia Tech's first in the game.

Dispigna grounded out after that, but the good news was that the Yellow Jackets had battled back to take the lead in the 5th.

After a double play, it looked like Siegel was going to make quick work of things in the top of the 6th, but back-to-back walks led to Ben King coming in to pitch. King struck out his first batter and GT went into the bottom of the 6th with the lead still 7-5.

The bottom of the 6th saw Georgia Tech load the bases once again. A leadoff single from Reid started things off and the Geisler reached on a fielder's choice that saw Reid out at 2nd. Rubenstein singled and then Romano walked to load the bases. Finley brought one run in on an RBI single to extend the lead to 8-5 and then the inning was over.

King came back in the game and had an easy 1-2-3 inning to send it to the bottom of the 7th.

The Yellow Jackets started off the bottom of the 7th with back-to-back-to-back singles from Senese, DeLeo, and Dispigna to load the bases. Reid hit a sac fly to make the lead 9-5. A wild pitch scored DeLeo to make it 10-5 and then an RBI single from Rubenstein made it 11-5.

In the next inning, Noah Samol came in to pitch for Ben King, who did a great job today. Samol gave up two walks and a single to load the bases to start the inning, but some of the damage was mitigated by a double play that did score one run and cut the lead to 11-6. A wild pitch scored another to make it 11-7, but Samol got out of the inning having only given up two runs.

Georgia Tech could not do anything in the bottom of the 8th and Jackson Vaughan came in to close the game for the Yellow Jackets in the 9th.

The 9th inning saw Tennessee Tech get two runners on but Vaughan closed the game out and Georgia Tech moved to 7-0 with an 11-7 victory.

The Yellow Jackets are back in action at home against Long Island this Tuesday. First pitch is set for 4:00 p.m.
