BREAKING: Chris Eubanks Defeated in Wimbledon Quarterfinals

One of the best sports stories of the year has come to an end.
Chris Eubanks, the former Georgia Tech tennis star who captured the world's attention during this year's Wimbledon tournament, was defeated today by the No.3 player in the world, Daniil Medvedev. Medvedev will now move on to the semifinals. It was a close five-set match, but the fantastic story at Wimbledon is coming to an end.
After losing the first set 6-4, Eubanks got on a roll.
He was dominant in the second set, winning 6-1 and then quickly winning the first two points of the third set to go up 2-0.

Medvedev would not go quietly though. He battled back to make it 5-4 and it looked like he might tie it up, but Eubanks was fantastic.
The fourth set was where it felt like it was decided. The two went back and forth, but Medvedev held on and tied the match at two sets apiece.
The fifth set was handled by Medvedev handily. He will advance to the semifinals.
Eubanks came into this tournament as the No. 43 player in the world playing in his first-ever Wimbledon Tournament. I can't wait to see how Eubanks will perform at the U.S. Open later this year and what he does now that he has gotten everyone's attention. Having a run like this at a tournament like Wimbledon could propel Eubanks to being a household name if he builds off the momentum he created during this year's tournament.
Eubanks became the third Black American man to reach the quarterfinals at Wimbledon since the start of the Open Era in 1968.
This has been a great story to follow, from the win over Stefanos Tsitsipas on Monday all the way to the match today, it has been a Wimbledon to remember for Eubanks.
