Eastern Oregon's Chris Kemp on Gonzaga: 'It's the pinnacle of the basketball world in the Northwest'

For the third straight season, Eastern Oregon will travel to Spokane for a game against the Gonzaga Bulldogs. While the previous matchups haven't favored the Mountaineers, head coach Chris Kemp doesn't pay much attention to the scoreboard when the final buzzer sounds. Instead he focuses on the opportunity to compete against one of the most consistently successful programs in college basketball over the last quarter-decade.

Aside from working on execution and the x's and o's, Kemp sees the trip to the McCarthey Athletic Center as a chance to be present at the pinnacle of the basketball world in the Northwest. With 11 players on the roster from either Washington or Idaho, the third-year head coach noted how valuable the experience is for his Pacific Northwest players.

Kemp previewed the matchup against the Bulldogs with former Gonzaga All-American Dan Dickau on an episode of the Gonzaga Nation podcast.
