BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — Following one of its worst defeats in recent history, a 32-point loss at No. 6 Stanford on Sunday, No. 18 Indiana women’s basketball looks to regroup Friday night when it hosts Murray State.

“We have to get over it,” Indiana head coach Teri Moren said Thursday. “Disappointment. I think there's some anger. I think we were a little bit embarrassed by the score … It just was not our day and had a hard time with anything offensively going down for us. I think it would have been different, maybe, some of those earlier shots would have fallen, but they didn't.”

From the Missouri Valley Conference, the Racers are 1-1 with an 82-79 loss to Arkansas and a 121-63 win over Cumberland. Murray State’s leading scorer is junior Purdue transfer Ava Learn, who scored 15 points against Arkansas and 16 against Cumberland. The junior is not listed as one of the projected starters for Friday. Indiana’s projected lineup remains the same from its past two contests.

The Hoosiers shot 35% overall and 5-for-32 beyond the arc at Stanford. Moren took the blame for that lofty volume, saying the team doesn’t need to be taking that many threes. Perhaps the comfort of playing at home on Friday against a mid-major foe will help the Hoosiers to get back on track offensively, with more of their shots falling both in the paint and from distance.

The game starts at 7 p.m. ET inside Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall and will air on Big Ten-plus.
