PISCATAWAY, N.J. — It's Big Ten basketball and who knew when Rutgers entered the conference that the chippy and chirpy rivalry that has developed between the Hoosiers and the Scarlet Knights would occur. And since it's another IU game on the Peacock streaming service this season, it's definitely a good night to be a part of our live blog.

The most recent items are at the top, so please refresh as needed. Enjoy the game!

7:32 p.m. — Trey Galloway is still in a major funk. He's just 2-for-9 from the field, and can't make free throws any more, either. He misses two, and the first one barely touched the rim.

7:25 p.m. — Three second-half baskets for Malik Reneau, and Indiana trails now 39-38. He had a big second half vs. Ohio State — 19 of his 23 points — so a repeat would sure help this moribund IU offense.

7:20 p.m. — Xavier Johnson just got ejected from the game for hitting Antwone Woolfolk in the privates on a screen. Woolfolk nailed him right back, but after review, the refs got it right. That was on Johnson for sure. So stupid.

7:11 p.m. — Really ugly start to the second half for Indiana, making just 1-of-8 from the field. Only basket is a floater by Xavier Johnson. We're at the first media timeout of the half, and Rutgers leads 36-30.

HALFTIME STATS: Xavier Johnson with a rough first half. He's 0-for-3 from the field with four turnovers. Indiana with 11 first-half turnovers. Kel'el Ware is the leading scorer with eight points on 4-of-5 shooting.

6:46 p.m. — It sure seems like this happens to Indiana a lot. Derek Simpson throws up a 30-footer at the buzzer and banks it in. Rutgers goes to the break with a 30-27 lead.

6:44 p.m. — Nice runout, with Xavier Johnson hitting Trey Galloway for a dunk. Indiana leads 27-25.

6:39 p.m. — Same problems that have haunted Indiana lately are prevalant again tonight. Already nine turnovers, and nine offensive rebounds allowed.

6:34 p.m. — Well, that was a pretty ugly four minutes of basketball. We're at a media timeout with 3:35 to go and it's still 20-19 Indiana. These are the two worst 3-point shooting team in the league, and it show. IU 2-for-9 from deep, Rutgers 1-for-10.

6:30 p.m. — Indiana goes zone for a bit, to give Rutgers a different look. Indiana's defense has been good. Rutgers is just 7-for-24 from the field, and just 1-for-9 from deep.

6:27 p.m. — Rutgers gets back-to-back good looks, and Derek Simpson and Jamichael Davis knock down easy shots. We're at the under-8 media timeout, and Indiana leads 20-17.

6:23 p.m. — Rutgers is really getting after it, extending its defense out pretty far. A nice back-door cut by Gabe Cupps works, and Indiana goes up 20-13 with 9:04 to go.

6:14 p.m. — CJ Gunn in off the bench for Mackenzie Mgbako as the Hoosiers go with a three-guard set. Saw some of that against Ohio State, too. Gunn hits a three, and we go to the second media timeout with Indiana leading 14-9.

6:09 p.m. — Really nice 7-0 run for Indiana to take a 9-7 lead. Rutgers had a similar run with all the IU turnovers. First media timeout now. Mackenzie Mgbako had a three-pointer in the run, Trey Galloway scored on a runout and Kel'el Ware dunked on a great pass from Malik Reneau.

6:05 p.m. — Really sloppy on both ends so far. Indiana already had four turnovers, Rutgers two. Let's not forget that Indiana had 19 turnovers in its last road game.

6:02 p.m. — Indiana wins the tip and scores on the first possession. It's Malik Reneau with a nice move inside.

5:50 p.m. ET — Same starters for Indiana. It's Xavier Johnson and Trey Galloway at guard, and Mackenzie Mgbako, Malik Reneau and Kel'el Ware up front. Rutgers will go with Derek Simpson, Austin Williams, Mawot Mag, Aundre Hyatt and Cliff Omoruyi.

5:40 p.m. ET— Indiana's injury report lists both Xavier Johnson and Malik Reneau as questionable this evening.

5:30 p.m. ET — The weather outside is frightful in New Jersey. Lots of bad storms and a state emergency set. Definitely affecting the crowd here, which might be good for Indiana.
