BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — The Indiana Hoosiers (14-11, 6-8) needed a big home win on Sunday, but fell short to the Northwestern Wildcats (18-8, 9-6) losing 76-72 at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall.

There were some standout individual performances for the Hoosiers in the loss. Kel'el Ware ended the afternoon with 22 points and 16 rebounds. Freshman Mackenzie Mgbako scored 20 points and senior Trey Galloway dished out 12 assists.

Indiana was able to slow down Boo Buie for a majority of the game, holding the star guard to just 14 points on three-of-14 from the floor. But Northwestern got 26 points from Ryan Langborg, 14 from Matthew Nicholson and 13 from Nick Martinelli.

Northwestern led by as many as 16 points at one point, but Indiana trimmed the deficit all the way down to three points late in the game. The Hoosiers just weren't able to make enough plays late to get the win.
