WATCH: Trayce-Jackson Davis Blocks Jalen Hood-Schifino in NBA Preseason Game

The Los Angeles Lakers and the Golden State Warriors played an NBA preseason game on Saturday, and during the matchup, former Indiana men's basketball superstar Trayce Jackson-Davis recorded a highlight reel block against his former teammate Jalen Hood-Schifino.

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — There was Hoosier-on-Hoosier crime inside the Chase Center on Saturday night.

Two former Indiana men's basketball players took to the floor in Trayce Jackson-Davis and Jalen Hood-Schifino after successful tenures in Bloomington for coach Mike Woodson.

Jackson-Davis was selected with the No. 57 overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft by the Golden State Warriors after finishing his college career as the third all-time leading scorer in Indiana history. Meanwhile, Hood-Schifino impressed enough during his lone year of college basketball that he was selected with the No. 17 overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft by the Los Angeles Lakers.

The two iconic California basketball teams met on Saturday in their first stint of NBA preseason action.

Midway through the game, Hood-Schifino drove to the left while coming off a ball screen and made his way to the rim. It was there that he met an old friend, who sent his shot flying backward, as TJD kickstarted a fast break for Golden State.

Jackson-Davis and the Warriors ultimately emerged victorious on Saturday, defeating the Lakers 125-108 in San Francisco.

And while Jackson-Davis got the better of Hood-Schifino on the highlight reel play, it was the former IU guard, not the center, who had the better statistical performance.

Hood-Schifino finished the game with seven points in just over 23 minutes of play. He also added six rebounds (quite a lot for a guard in his first preseason game), two assists and a block of his own.

Jackson-Davis didn't have many stats outside of the rejection of his former teammate. He only played 15 minutes in Saturday's game and did not score while only taking one shot. Jackson-Davis did, however, finish the game with two blocks and two steals, flashing the defensive potency he could bring to the Warriors in the 2023-24 season.

Golden State and Jackson-Davis play their next NBA preseason game on Friday, Oct. 13, when they return the visiting favor and travel to Los Angeles to play Hood-Schifino and the Lakers for a second time.

Hood-Schifino, meanwhile, can be seen in two more NBA preseason games before that rematch. The Los Angeles Lakers are first playing the Brooklyn Nets on Monday, Oct. 9, at 9:00 p.m. ET, before taking on the Sacramento Kings on Wednesday, Oct. 11, at 10:00 p.m. ET.

However, the former Indiana guard will have to wait till 10:00 p.m. ET on Friday before he has a chance to get revenge on his college teammate for blocking his layup in Saturday's game.
