BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — Indiana women's basketball coach Teri Moren has said it multiple times; the Big Ten is the best conference in the country this season.

As of Monday, the Hoosiers are leading the conference pack as the highest ranked Big Ten team in the country at No. 2 with four Big Ten foes following behind.

With five games left on the regular season schedule, the Hoosiers have a tough slate beginning with No. 5 Iowa at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall on Thursday.

Take a look at the Hoosiers' remaining season along with the schedules of fellow ranked teams Iowa, Maryland, Michigan and Ohio State.

No. 2 Indiana's (12-1) remaining schedule:

Feb. 9 — Iowa

Last season, Indiana lost to Iowa three times as guard Caitlin Clark had her way with the Hoosiers scoring a total 65 points over Indiana across three games. As a sophomore, Clark ended up being the Big Ten Women's Player of the Year.

Another Hawkeye force to look at is fifth year center Monika Czinano standing tall at 6-foot-3, a real menace in the post. This season, she's averaging 18.3 points per game while Clark scores 27.6 points per contest.

This matchup will be to take the lead in the Big Ten standings as Indiana holds a 12-1 record with Iowa right behind at 11-1.

Feb. 13 — at Ohio State

The rest of this slate looks rather familiar to Indiana as it has seen these teams before earlier this season. On Jan. 26, Indiana beat then-ranked No. 2 Ohio State 78-65 inside the Hall.

Both senior forward Mackenzie Holmes and freshman guard Yarden Garzon dropped 20 plus points while Ohio State freshman forward Cotie McMahon added 21. The Buckeyes have had themselves a rough patch as they've now lost four total games most recently a 90-54 loss to Maryland in College Park on Sunday.

Feb. 16 — Michigan

On Jan. 23, Indiana defeated then-ranked No. 14 Michigan 92-83 in Ann Arbor. This time, the Hoosiers will take a shot at them on their home court.

Last time out, Holmes earned a 25-point, 10-rebound double-double as the Hoosiers won the battle of the boards 41-24.

Michigan was led by fifth year guard Leigha Brown, who scored 31 points while sophomore guard Laila Phelia added 21 points. The Wolverines are now on a three-game winning streak with victories over Minnesota, Illinois and most recently at Michigan State.

Feb. 19 — Purdue

Following a loss in front of its sold-out crowd at Mackey Arena, Purdue will get a chance at redemption in the Hall. Coach Moren is a former Boilermaker and said on Sunday she actually roots for the team any time it's not playing Indiana.

Before the loss to the Hoosiers, Purdue was on a three-game winning streak over Minnesota, then-ranked No. 22 Illinois and then-ranked No. 2 Ohio State.

Fifth year guard Lasha Petree was Purdue's leading scorer in the 69-46 loss to Indiana with 13 points while Hoosiers Sydney Parrish and Holmes each cashed in for 15 points and limited the Boilers to just one layup in the third quarter.

Feb. 26 — at Iowa

This might look a lot like last year as Iowa was the second-to-last regular season opponent for Indiana in the 2021-22 season and is now the final regular season foe this year too.

The Hawkeyes have only lost one home match to NC State this season in Carver-Hawkeye Arena, which means they remain perfect at home versus conference opponents.
