Big Ten Announces All-Conference Selections, Individual Honors for Offense

The Big Ten announced the All-Conference selections for offense on Monday. It also revealed the offensive individual award winners for the 2023 season.

With the 2023 Big Ten regular season in the books, it's time to hand out some accolades. Tuesday, the conference revealed the All-Big Ten teams for offense.

Additionally, the league recognized individual award winners for offense, as well as the Big Ten Freshman of the Year.

Individual Award Winners (Offense)

Offensive Player and Receiver of the Year

Marvin Harrison Jr., Ohio State: There is a reason Harrison is considered a Heisman Trophy candidate. The Ohio State star is considered the top receiver in college football and proved himself time and again in 2023. Harrison ended the year with 1,211 yards and 14 touchdowns on 67 catches. He was, without question, the Big Ten's top offensive player and receiver this season.

Quarterback of the Year

J.J. McCarthy, Michigan: McCarthy didn't have to crush teams through the air or put up huge numbers for Michigan to be successful. He took care of the football and made plays when necessary. There's an art to it. For the year, McCarthy threw for 2,483 yards and completed a sizzling 74.3% of his passes. He also accounted for 22 total touchdowns and tossed just four interceptions.

Running Back of the Year

Blake Corum, Michigan: A couple names could've been considered, but Corum was the best at putting points on the scoreboard. The veteran ball carrier reached the end zone 22 times on the ground, 10 more than any other player in the Big Ten. He also racked up 976 rushing yards for the Wolverines.

Tight End of the Year

Cade Stover, Ohio State: Throughout the season, Stover came up with big plays for the Buckeyes. He was the team's second-leading receiver, hauling in 41 passes for 576 yards and five touchdowns. The tight end totaled at least 50 receiving yards in nine games this season.

Offensive Lineman of the Year

Olumuyiwa Fashanu, Penn State: Fashanu was a star at left tackle for Penn State in 2023, the anchor of an offensive line that allowed just 15 sacks on the season. He didn't allow a sack throughout the season and blocked for an offense the led the conference in rushing, averaging 186 yards per game.

Freshman of the Year

Dillon Thieneman, Purdue: While Thieneman plays defense, his Freshman of the Year honor wasn't announced until Wednesday. The Purdue safety was a five-time Freshman of the Week in the Big Ten was a bright spot for the Boilermakers defense. Thieneman ended his first year in West Lafayette with 106 tackles, six interceptions, two forced fumbles and two pass break-ups.
