Each time Drew Miller visits Iowa Football he grows a little closer with the program. That's the case after stopping at the Hawkeyes' junior day on Sunday.

Kohl's Kicking ranks Miller (6-1, 195) as the No. 1 Class of 2024 punter in the country. Chris Sailer Kicking rates him No. 2

Iowa State, NC State and Air Force have reportedly offered the Mediapolis (IA) High standout scholarships. Many others have shown a lot of interest in him, including Iowa.

Hawkeye special teams coach LeVar Woods impressed Miller during the junior day stop.

"The position meeting where we broke down film stood out to me the most. I’d say getting to talk to several of the coaches as well," he told HN.

Miller said the topic of Iowa offering a scholarship did not come up during his conversations with the staff.

"We talked about what I was doing this spring for training," he said.

The Hawkeyes return standout punter Tory Taylor in '23 for his fourth and likely final season. Redshirt freshman walk-on Max Hoskins is the only other player at the position on the current roster.

The timing seems to be right for Iowa adding Miller, even if it takes using a scholarship. The staff also could convince him to walk on and earn his ride early on in his college career. Each side has a decision to make.

One thing is for sure, he likes the Hawkeyes.

"Iowa could be a fit for me because of the emphasis and success with special teams. The schemes and punt style they run complements my ability as a punter as well. I also like the family feel of the team and staff. The team is really close to each other and the coaches, and that stood out to me," he said.

"I’m excited about the future and further developing relationships with the coaching staff."

Miller has visits lined up with Iowa State, Georgia, NC State, Duke, and Michigan for this spring. Other campus stops are likely with the interest he's garnering.

Miller averaged 48.0 yards on 24 punts as a junior. He recorded 51 touchbacks on 55 kickoffs, hit a 43-yard field goal and converted 41 of 44 PATs.

The Kohl's Kicking scouting report says - Miller shows tremendous leg speed and power in both kicking and punting, making him one of the most exciting prospects in his class!
