Fans of the Kansas Jayhawks two things in the polls this week that they aren't used to. First, the men's team fell in the poll despite an absolutely dominant victory over the Missouri Tigers. But more importantly, the Kansas women's team is ranked for the first time since the 2013 season, after a dominating win on the road over a ranked Arizona team was followed up by another blowout victory, this time at home against the Wichita State Shockers.

On the men's side, losses by the top two teams provided a pretty big shakeup in the rankings, with Purdue, Virginia and UConn listed as the top three in both polls. Alabama ad Houston occupy the next two spots, but are flipped, with the Crimston Tide fourth in the AP Poll and Houston fourth in the Coaches Poll. Both polls have Tennessee one spot ahead of Texas, but in the AP Kansas dropped from sixth last week to eighth this week, while they maintained their spot in sixth in the Coaches Poll. Arizona and Arkansas round out the Top Ten. Baylor falls just outside the top ten at 1th in each poll.

The Big 12 still only has four teams in the polls, with Iowa State dropping out only to see TCU jump back in at #21 in the AP Poll and #22 in the Coaches Poll. Iowa State is the highest conference team in the "Others Receiving Votes" category, with West Virginia, Texas Tech and Kansas State also receiving votes.

On the women's side, the top of the poll saw little movement, with South Carolina getting all of the first-place votes, and Stanford, Ohio State , Indiana and Notre Dame making up the rest of the top 5.

Iowa State is the highest Big 12 team in the poll, coming in at #14 in the AP Poll and #12 in the Coaches Poll. They are joined by Baylor (#18 in both polls), Kansas (#22 in AP, #24 in Coaches) and Oklahoma (#24 in AP, #20 in Coaches). Kansas State fell out of both polls this week but are still receiving votes. Texas is still receiving votes in the AP Poll.

These polls have given us some big matchups this week, with multiple games between two ranked teams. On the men's side, we have #16 UCLA at #20 Maryland on Wednesday and Saturday is packed with #14 Indiana at #8 Kansas, #4 Alabama as the "road" team at a "neutral" site in Birmingham against #15 Gonzaga, #5 Houston at #2 Virginia, #16 UCLA vs #13 Kentucky in Madison Square Garden and #6 Tennessee at #9 Arizona to cap off the weekend.

On the women's side, it's all about the weekend, as Saturday has #21 Arkansas at #16 Creighton and then Sunday gives us a few more. #14 Iowa State plays #25 Villanova at Mohegan Sun in CT, #5 Notre Dame visits #6 Virginia Tech and #20 Arizona plays #18 Baylor in Dallas.
