You won’t get the typical 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 star player ratings system that you’re used to. Nope, today we go back to a tradition that had to take a year off. Everything is a five star and the players are in order of their performance, so you’ll see the players who had the most impact higher on this list. So, here are the ratings for your regular season Big XII champs.

5 Stars:

Restoring the social order by winning the Big XII

I’m not just saying this as a Kansas alum and fan, but doesn’t it just feel right when Kansas wins the league?

Jalen Wilson was a monster in this one. 17 points and 13 boards and two blocks. Needless to say, KU loses going away if it wasn’t for this guy. What a conference season he had.

And speaking of important, David McCormack was immense in this one. His 22 points were a team high and he added 10 boards as well. Imagine what this guy could be if he could make more baskets from three feet away.

5 Stars:

Winning without the Preseason POY (mostly)

Kansas did most of their conference damage without Remy Martin, the preseason conference player of the year. That’s hard to do.

Christian Braun needs to shoot from distance more often because when he does, it has been going in recently. He was the third Jayhawk to record a double-double with 13 and 11.

Dajuan Harris missed a lot of shots in this one, but his defensive ability and his knack for getting people open looks from three makes him invaluable.

Jalen Coleman-Lands was 0.2 seconds away from being a magic man and being on the video board in the years to come.

5 Stars:

Winning under pressure

KU let a cushion evaporate in back to back losses to Baylor and TCU, but came through, especially defensively, in the clutch in a must win game against Texas.

KJ Adams is a jack of all trades that could come in very handy in the tournament if there are some matchup problems for KU.

Ochai Agbaji had his worst game of the season in his last game ever at Allen Fieldhouse, but that smile at the end? That smile says it all. Looking forward to a super motivated Ochai in the tournament.

5 Stars:

Starting a Conference Winning Streak

Let’s make this the first of many consecutive conference titles. Yeah, that sounds fun.

Remy Martin got the start and played seven minutes. It will be interesting to see what happens in the Big 12 Tournament. Does Bill Self run Remy out there to get his sea legs under him or does he stick with the regular rotation? Would love to see more of Martin in the first game at least.

Speaking of which, the same can be said of Joseph Yesufu.

5 Stars:

Winning all your conference home games

KU stumbled against Kentucky, but cleaned house at home, winning all their conference matchups at Allen Fieldhouse.

Mitch Lightfoot celebrated his third senior night by starting. Does he have a valuable role to play going forward? I think he does.

Again, the same can be said for Zach Clemence. This is a guy I’d like to see more of in Kansas City.

And finally, a five-star performance from Chris Teahan. Sure, why not?
