Game Primer: How to Watch, Things to Know for Texas Tech at Kansas

Everything you need to know for today's home game against the Red Raiders

The Kansas Jayhawks are a good football team this year, and they look to put their perfect home record on the line today as the Texas Tech Red Raiders come to town. The Red Raiders are in the middle of a disappointing year under Joey McGuire, as many picked them to be a dark horse Big 12 title contender. Instead, injuries, inconsistent play and uneven coaching have led to a bunch of problems across the team.

Kansas stayed strong in the polls, moving up to #19 in the AP Poll, #18 in the Coaches Poll and #16 in the CFP Rankings. Texas Tech is not receiving votes in any of the polls.

The Red Raiders have dominated the overall series with 22 wins in 24 previous games. The last win for Kansas was a wild 37-34 victory back in 2019.

Fun Facts

The victory over Iowa State marked just the fifth time that the Jayhawks have 7 wins in their first 9 games of the season. The most recent was the 2007 season. It is also the first time Kansas has won consecutive Big 12 games since 2008.

The Jayhawks are tied with six other teams for the most defensive touchdowns this season. They have four, with Mello Dotson getting one in each of the last two games.
