The first half of the game between the Kansas Jayhawks and the Nevada Wolf Pack can only be described as a sloppy mess, as a weird day for the Big 12 has continued into the night game.

While the Jayhawks will be getting Cobee Bryant and Austin Booker back in the second half, there are still some fairly concerning things to take from this first half of play.

Frazzled Offensive Line

I'm not really sure how to explain it, but the Jayhawks have not really been able to develop any sort of rhythm. They drove methodically down the field on their first drive to score a touchdown, but other than that it has been a struggle. The Nevada defensive line has gotten a ton of pressure, and it's hard to understand why. Kansas offensive lineman look slow to their spots. And even when they have held up for a few seconds, it hasn't been enough to keep Nevada from bringing pressure.

Poor Decision Making

I wasn't expecting to say this, but Jalon Daniels' decision making has been less than good so far. Sure he hasn't had a bunch of time to make plays, but when he was given time, he often tried to stretch plays too far and allow the Wolf Pack to ultimately bring some pressure. The Jayhawks had something going on the ground, but they didn't stick with it, and Nevada has done enough to make things difficult.

Defensive No-Shows

To put it nicely, the defense has had some issues. Jereme Robinson has gotten plenty of pressure, and Mello Dotson seems to be everywhere, but bad penalties by JB Brown and Caleb Taylor extended drives for the Wolf Pack. And there have been plenty of times where they should have gotten off the field but couldn't do it. Add in an injury to Gage Keys, and Kansas better hope that the return of Bryant and Booker make a huge difference.
