The pendulum has swung back again, as the huge win for the Kansas Jayhawks over the Oklahoma Sooners was enough to push them back into the polls on Sunday. Kansas jumped right back in where they were last seen, as they hit #22 in the AP Poll and #23 in the Coaches Poll. Both of those were good enough for the biggest jumps in the polls, as they did not receive any votes in the AP Poll last week and just 4 points in the Coaches Poll last week.

The loss to the Jayhawks dropped the Sooners to #10 in the AP Poll and #11 in the Coaches Poll. They were one of three teams to drop at least 4 spots in both polls, with Utah and Oregon State both falling after their losses. Falling out of the poll entirely this week was Duke, who dropped out of both polls, and North Carolina, who dropped out of the AP Poll (replaced by Kansas State) and held on to #25 in the Coaches Poll.

The Texas Longhorns lead the Big 12 contingent this week in the poll, holding steady at #7 in the AP Poll and moving up a spot to #6 in the Coaches Poll. The Kansas State Wildcats finally slipped back into the poll at #25 in the AP Poll, but are still trying to get back into the Coaches Poll, where they have the most votes outside of the poll. Also joining them in receiving votes is both polls is Oklahoma State.

The rest of the poll fell out the way you would expect, with no other teaming moving up or down significantly. Lots of ranked teams had gigantic wins over the weekend, so there wasn't a lot of room to move around.

There are four games between two ranked teams in this week's slate:

  • #25 Kansas State heads down to Austin to try and keep their push towards a spot in Arlington against #7 Texas.
  • #14 Missouri tries to stand up to the juggernaut that is #1 Georgia.
  • #5 Washington heads down to try and knock #24 USC out of Pac 12 contention.
  • #13 LSU has a huge SEC West matchup in Tuscaloosa against #8 Alabama.

The Jayhawks have a huge matchup this week against the Iowa State Cyclones, as they look to turn their road woes around and stay in the contention for a spot in the Big 12 Championship.
