Kansas Football announces sell-outs for remainder of the schedule

In this story:
Part of the intrigue in the last few weeks of the season has been if the Kansas Jayhawks have built up enough goodwill with the fanbase to "Pack The Booth" from week to week. But as of this afternoon, there is no need to wonder the rest of the year. Kansas Athletics announced that both the Texas Tech game this week and the Sunflower Showdown against Kansas State next weekend have officially sold out:
Make that 7 sellouts for @KU_Football under @CoachLeipold 📈https://t.co/NcomgEvvdz

While it is still fair to wonder how many of those sold tickets went to the fans of the visiting team and also how many of those people will actually attend at the stadium, this is still a huge step for the program. With these sellouts, the Jayhawks have now sold out four of the seven games at home this season, and they have sold out 4 straight games with an 11am kickoff.
Under Lance Leipold, the Jayhawks have sold out 7 home games, which is a significant improvement for the program. And even though Leipold has denied that they have any truth to them, recent rumors about discussions between Leipold's team and Michigan State may have sparked a sense of urgency in the fanbase. Of course it could also have something to do with the excitement surrounding a huge upset win over Oklahoma, a strong win on the road at Iowa State and the fact that Kansas is very much still in the race for the Big 12 Championship.
Regardless of the reason, Kansas Football is back in the spotlight. They are nationally ranked for the last two weeks, having appeared in both of the College Football Playoff Rankings this seasons, and it doesn't feel at all like a fluke. Fans are excited, players are excited, and the coaching staff appears to be setting this program up for a lot of success in the near future. All that is a recipe for the start of a long sellout streak.
