Football season is in full swing, and if you're anything like me, it means that you can spend all of Saturday and Sunday glued to a screen of some sort. But with non-stop action, it's easy to feel lost among a huge number of choices when deciding which games to watch.

With that in mind, we have a primer for the Kansas Football fan. A full slate of action that you can turn on that will whet that football appetite but also be relevant to your rooting interests. We'll pick a main game for the big TV, and then a second one for flipping during commercials or to stick on that laptop/tablet/second TV that we all know is sitting right there.

All game times below are Central. All odds courtesy of SI Sportsbook.

Friday

Louisville Cardinals @ UCF Knights

Location: FBC Mortgage Stadium, Orlando, FL
Game Time: Friday, Sept 9th at 6:30pm
TV Channel: ESPN2
Live Stream: fuboTV (Start your free trial)
Line: UCF -5.5

Why Jayhawk fans should watch:

This is one of two games on Friday, but it's the only one even worth watching a little bit. If you aren't at a high school football game tonight, then tune in to get a sneak peek at a future conference foe. That or you are just a football junkie.

Early Saturday

Missouri Tigers @ Kansas State Wildcats

Location: Bill Snyder Family Stadium, Manhattan, KS
Game Time: Saturday, Sept 10th at 11am
TV Channel: ESPN2
Live Stream: fuboTV (Start your free trial)
Line: KSU -7.5

Why Jayhawk fans should watch:

The easy answer is that you can make this game whatever you want it to be. You can hate watch both teams and laugh at every bad play. You can take pleasure in whoever wins, because either Kansas State gets knocked down a peg or Missouri gets brought back to reality about where their team really is.

Whatever motivation you use to turn this one on, it should be on that main screen. Because nobody REALLY wants to see the drubbing that is going to be Alabama at Texas.

Duke Blue Devils @ Northwestern Wildcats

Location: Ryan Field, Evanston, IL
Game Time: Saturday, Sept 10th at 11am
TV Channel: FS1
Live Stream: fuboTV (Start your free trial)
Line: NU -10

Why Jayhawk fans should watch:

With Duke traveling to Lawrence in two weeks, this will be a good opportunity to figure out whether Jayhawk fans need to worry. While not quite as impressive as the Jayhawks in their debut, Duke looked like a much improved team from last season. But the same questions about quality of opponent apply to Duke, so this will give fans an opportunity to see how well the Blue Devils stand up to a competent team.

Honorable Mention: Alabama at Texas

Sat Afternoon

Houston Cougars @ Texas Tech Red Raiders

Location: Jones AT&T Stadium, Lubbock, TX
Game Time: Saturday, Sept 10th at 11am
TV Channel: FS1
Live Stream: fuboTV (Start your free trial)
Line: TTU -4

Why Jayhawk fans should watch:

With Kansas playing both of these teams in the coming weeks, it is a good chance to get a sneak peek at what the Jayhawks will be up against. Houston struggled with UTSA last week, needing some friendly clock shenanigans and multiple overtimes to beat the Roadrunners at home. Texas Tech absolutely looked the part of a good team, but it was the first game for head coach Joey McGuire against a severely overmatched foe. This week could give a good indication of the direction these teams are going to take in the coming weeks.

Iowa State Cyclones @ Iowa Hawkeyes

Location: Kinnick Stadium, Iowa City, IA
Game Time: Saturday, Sept 10th at 3pm
TV Channel: BTN
Live Stream: fuboTV (Start your free trial)
Line: Iowa -3.5

Why Jayhawk fans should watch:

I could give you some spiel about conference pride or some other sappy way to convince you to watch, but it's really about a good game that has a lot of intrigue from last week. Iowa won one of the most bizarre games I've seen in a long time, and Iowa State looks primed to finally beat the Hawkeyes. But if they don't figure it out this year, will they ever?

Honorable Mention: Tennessee at Pittsburgh

Sat Evening

I'm only going to give you one here, because everyone should be watching Kansas take on West Virginia. However, if you don't have ESPN+, or you want another game to have on your second screen, then here you go:

Arizona State Sun Devils @ Oklahoma State Cowboys

Location: Boone Pickens Stadium, Stillwater, OK
Game Time: Saturday, Sept 10th at 6:30pm
TV Channel: ESPN2
Live Stream: fuboTV (Start your free trial)
Line: OSU -11.5

Why Jayhawk fans should watch:

This isn't really about the quality of this matchup. This is much more about not wanting to recommend an early season SEC matchup that may not be all that competitive despite featuring two ranked teams. But Oklahoma State got off to a great start last week before letting Central Michigan back into the game. They can't afford the same mistake against Arizona State if they expect to win.

Honorable Mention: Kentucky at Florida

Sat Late Night

Baylor Bears @ BYU Cougars

Location: LaVell Edwards Stadium, Provo, UT
Game Time: Saturday, Sept 10th at 9:15pm
TV Channel: ESPN
Live Stream: fuboTV (Start your free trial)
Line: BYU -2.5

Why Jayhawk fans should watch:

This has all the looks of the best game on the entire Saturday slate, and it's an early preview of what Big 12 After Dark might look like in the near future. These teams are about as evenly matched at this point in the season as you can be, and BYU is looking to avenge a rather embarrassing loss in Waco last season. If you are able to stay up for all of this one, then you shouldn't be disappointed.

Honorable Mention: Mississippi State at Arizona
