Kansas Jayhawk Fan Viewing Guide - Week 3

We're back to help you wade through all the games and help you find the ones you should REALLY care about.

It's another week full of non-stop action, which means that you might need some help selecting some games among a huge number of choices.

With that in mind, we have a primer for the Kansas Football fan. A full slate of action that you can turn on that will whet that football appetite but also be relevant to your rooting interests. We'll pick a main game for the big TV, and then a second one for flipping during commercials or to stick on that laptop/tablet/second TV that we all know is sitting right there. While I'm assuming you will be watching the Kansas game, it is at a weird time between windows, so you may need some ideas to flip to after the Kansas game finishes.

All game times below are Central. All odds courtesy of SI Sportsbook.

Friday

Florida State Seminoles @ Louisville Cardinals

Location: Cardinal Stadium, Louisville, KY
Game Time: Friday, Sept 16th at 6:30pm
TV Channel: ESPN
Live Stream: fuboTV (Start your free trial)
Line: FSU -2.0
O/U: 56.5

Why Jayhawk fans should watch:

If you're going to watch college football on TV, this is the one to watch. After a thrilling come-from-behind victory in the second half last week, can Louisville score their second straight upset victory?

Early Saturday

Oklahoma Sooners @ Nebraska Cornhuskers

Location: Memorial Stadium, Lincoln, NE
Game Time: Saturday, Sept 17th at 11am
TV Channel: FOX
Live Stream: fuboTV (Start your free trial)
Line: OU -10.0
O/U: 66.0

Why Jayhawk fans should watch:

Sure, Oklahoma is supposed to demolish the Cornhuskers, who just fired head coach Scott Frost after an abysmal 1-2 start. And looking at the talent matchup, you would probably come to the same conclusion.

But Oklahoma has been in way too many close games the last few years, and Brent Venables' squad hasn't really done anything to make me believe they are going to be any different yet. This might be the most interesting of the games expected to be blowouts.

Purdue Boilermakers @ Syracuse Orange

Location: JMA Wireless Dome, Syracuse, NY
Game Time: Saturday, Sept 17th at 11am
TV Channel: ESPN2
Live Stream: fuboTV (Start your free trial)
Line: SYR -2.0
O/U: 59.5

Why Jayhawk fans should watch:

This is the only game that has both an interesting team to watch and isn't expected to be a complete blowout. The emergence of Syracuse as a decent team this season could do a lot to increase the comparisons of this year to the 2007 season.

Honorable Mention: Western Kentucky Hilltoppers at Indiana Hoosiers

Sat Afternoon

BYU Cougars @ Oregon Ducks

Location: Autzen Stadium, Eugene, OR
Game Time: Saturday, Sept 17th at 2:30pm
TV Channel: FOX
Live Stream: fuboTV (Start your free trial)
Line: ORE -4
O/U: 58

Why Jayhawk fans should watch:

Besides scouting out a future conference opponent, Kansas fans should probably be cheering for BYU if they are worried at all about the conference superiority argument. It's been quite a while since the Pac 12 has had multiple teams that have been considered any good, and with USC surging under Lincoln Riley, this is a good chance to halt any momentum that the West Coast is starting to build.

California Golden Bears @ Notre Dame Fighting Irish

Location: Notre Dame Stadium, Notre Dame, IN
Game Time: Saturday, Sept 17th at 1:30pm
TV Channel: NBC
Live Stream: fuboTV (Start your free trial)
Line: ND -11.0
O/U: 40.5

Why Jayhawk fans should watch:

Just how far have the Fighting Irish fallen under head coach Marcus Freeman? Saturday's game will tell us a lot. Notre Dame needs to work quickly to turn around their fortunes, because they have too much talent to be losing this much. Up next is a Cal team that isn't intimidating on paper, but neither was Marshall.

Honorable Mention: Tulane Green Wave at Kansas State Wildcats

Sat Evening

Texas Tech Red Raiders @ NC State Wolfpack

Location: Carter Finley Stadium, Raleigh, NC
Game Time: Saturday, Sept 17th at 6pm
TV Channel: ESPN2
Live Stream: fuboTV (Start your free trial)
Line: NCST -10.0
O/U: 56.0

Why Jayhawk fans should watch:

How real has this start been for Donovan Smith and the Texas Tech Red Raiders. The common wisdom is that they just got off to a hot start with a fairly favorable early schedule, but this test will tell us a lot about what kind of team they will be this season. Meanwhile, NC State is challenging for the top of the ACC this season, and they need this win to keep that momentum going.

UTSA Roadrunners @ Texas Longhorns

Location: DKR-Texas Memorial Stadium, Austin, TX
Game Time: Saturday, Sept 17th at 7pm
TV Channel: LHN
Live Stream: fuboTV (Start your free trial)
Line: TEX -13.0
O/U: 61.0

Why Jayhawk fans should watch:

UTSA has already played some really good games to start the year, and Texas has already suffered some significant injuries. How healthy is Hudson Card going to be for the Longhorns, and will that defense continue to play well, or was it all extra hype because Alabama was in town?

Honorable Mention: Miami Hurricanes at Texas A&M Aggies

Sat Late Night

Fresno State Bulldogs @ USC Trojans

Location: Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, Los Angeles, CA
Game Time: Saturday, Sept 17th at 9:30pm
TV Channel: FOX
Live Stream: fuboTV (Start your free trial)
Line: USC -12.5
O/U: 73.5

Why Jayhawk fans should watch:

A game full of high-powered offenses, and one of the toughest tests so far for Lincoln Riley and the USC Trojans. It should be an entertaining game of back and forth for a while, but I don't think the result of this one is in doubt much. A good nightcap that you can fall asleep to.

Honorable Mention: North Dakota State at Arizona
