Kentucky Hosting Rhode Island DB Transfer Antonio Carter for Visit

The coveted defensive back has already visited Wisconsin and Ole Miss.

One of the few transfer portal targets that Kentucky football found during the short April transfer portal window is reportedly taking a visit to the Bluegrass.

On April 18, the Wildcats offered Antonio Carter, a Rhode Island defensive back that entered the portal after his sophomore season with the Rams. On Monday, it was reported by Kentucky Sports Radio's Zack Geoghegan that the DB is taking a visit to Lexington. Carter told KSR that he'll be at UK from May 13-15.

Coming out of Oak Ridge High School in Orlando, Fla., Carter started all 11 games for the Rams as a redshirt sophomore in the 2022 season. He finished fourth on the team with 60 tackles, 4.5 TFL, 11 pass deflections, two forced fumbles and recoveries, an interception and a sack.

In 21 career games, Carter has 105 tackles and 17 pass deflections. Standing 6-foot-1, 200 pounds, he entered the portal on April 16 and has also announced offers from the likes of Baylor, Louisville, West Virginia, Virginia Tech, Minnesota, Texas A&M, Wisconsin, Iowa, Washington and Ole Miss.

He has taken two visits thus far, heading to Wisconsin and Ole Miss. Carter also told KSR that he intends on taking more visits after coming to Kentucky and will soon make a decision afterward.

Kentucky has added offensive tackle Courtland Ford from USC via the portal thus far and has seen multiple departures, most recently linemen David Wohlabaugh Jr and Deondre Buford. The portal window officially ran from April 15-30.
