LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The Louisville football program has landed yet another Class of 2024 prospect following the end of spring ball, this time coming from out of their own backyard.

Wide receiver Shaun Boykins Jr., who plays roughly 45 minutes south of L&N Stadium at Radcliff (Ky.) North Hardin, announced Wednesday that he has given his verbal pledge to the Cardinals. He chose Louisville primarily over arch rival Kentucky, but also held offers from West Virginia, Marshall, Central Michigan and others.

Boykins is the third prospect in the 2024 cycle to commit to Louisville following their spring game last Friday, where he was one of several dozen high school prospects in attendance. Offensive lineman Ransom McDermott and Jimmy Williams pulled the trigger as well.

The Cardinals have also landed commitments from four D1 transfers since the end of the spring ball. Former Rutgers offensive tackle Willie Tyler, former Oregon linebacker Keith Brown, and former North Carolina defensive backs Cam'Ron Kelly and Storm Duck.

The 6-foot-1, 190-pound wideout is regarded as the top prospect in the state of Kentucky by 247Sports' in-house rankings. He comes in as the No. 118 wide receiver in the class and No. 912 prospect overall according to the 247Sports Composite.

Boykins was a versatile offensive weapon for North Hardin during his junior year. He logged 56 receptions for 897 yards and 10 touchdowns, while also rushing 28 times for 221 yards and five touchdowns. He was named a Third-Team All-State selection by the Courier-Journal for his efforts.

Louisville now sports a six-man recruiting class in the 2024 cycle with Boykins' commitment. On top of Williams and McDermott, linebacker T.J. Capers, running back Isaac Brown and quarterback Deuce Adams are also in the fold.
