Live NCAA Super Regional Blog: Miami at Louisville, Game Three

Final: Louisville 3, Miami 2
Top: The Hurricanes should have had the bases loaded, but they don't. It comes down to Jake Ogden after a terrific at bat from Torres until he got caught looking. Ogden, another fly-out to end the season for the Canes. What a game, what a season for the Hurricanes. This could be the start of something special for J.D. Arteaga
9th Inning:
Bottom: The Hurricanes defense is starting to crumble. The simple plays are not being made.
Top: Cuvet gets a double, but the rest of the lineup struggled. The Canes will have one more chance and will have to make magic happen.
8th Inning:
Louisville 3, Miami 2
Bottom: the Hurricanes have been playing a great game. Defensively Torres has to come up with that catch but he doesn't. It gives the Cards the lead and now the Hurricanes are in do or die mode.
Top: Jake Kulikowski is in for the Canes to pinch hit. Did great yesterday does the job again today for the Canes with a single. The Issue is that the Canes continue to have fly outs. They need someone to do something great Cuvet is due in the next inning. He needs another moment like yesterday.

Bottom: Will Smith is filthy. He is getting the job done right now and as waiting to see which Hurriacnes is going to step up and make this their moment.

Top: What a 1-2-3 from the Cards to get out of that. This game is going to come down to who makes the first mistake.

BASES LOADED: no big deal!#RoadToOmaha x 🎥 ESPN / @CanesBaseball pic.twitter.com/dtFE7xxnox

Bottom: Evans gets a fly out but it's Will Smith time. I will say, it was scary for Will Smith. Bases loaded the the heart of the Cards lineup but he gets out and puts up another zero on the board for the Canes.
Top: three up and down for the Canes. They have to try and find something on offense. Cards have momentum and they might start pushing. Five innings left and it's 0-0 ball game.
5th Inning:
Miami 2, Louisville 2

Bottom: Reese has started to lose his control on the mound, and the Cardinals have their momentum back, tying the game up in the fourth. Evans comes in for Reese, who did his job for the first three innings.
Top: The Hurricanes continue to get runners on first but can't do more than what they have already done.
4th Inning:
Bottom: Reese is starting to struggle with command. He had runners one first and third. He had a filthy pitch to get out of the inning with the Canes still on top.
Miami 2, Louisville 0
Max Galvin sends it downtown and Miami strikes first 🔥🔥

Top: Michael Torres continues to be a spark plug at the bottom of the lineup. He has stepped up in the postseason, and the Canes have needed every bit of it. The Hurricanes still can't push anyone to second for a scoring opportunity. Ogden flies out, but Galvin rockets a ball over to left field, and the win pushes it over the fence. Miami with the first bomb to start the game. Cuvet grounds out to finish the inning, but good work from the Canes.
3rd Inning:
Bottom: Lumpkin is doing his job and keeping it low and playable. It has worked out so far for the Canes with two quick outs. Lumpkin strikes out the last batter for the out. He is doing well with his game plan.
Top: Another single for the Canes, but nothing to be taken from it. The Cards' defense is playing well, and the Canes continue to get flyouts.
2nd Inning:
Bottom: Lumpkin allows a hit on Munroe and gets the ground out of Eddie King Jr. Great first outing from Lumpkin, who the Hurricanes will try to get three to four innings out of to start.
Top: It was a battle from Cuvet with his at bat and he gets a single, but everyone else gets flyouts. Getting contact on the ball, but nothing in the first.
1st Inning:

Win or go home. That is the way the Miami Hurricanes have been playing most of the season and how they like to play — with their backs on the wall. However, when the team is relaxed and playing loose, they can beat anyone, and they will try to get their first trip to Omaha since the 2016 season.
It will be a tall task against a powerhouse in Louisville that will be ready to hit every out of Jim Patterson Park like they have all weekend, but the Hurricanes have shown that they can compete with anyone at any given time. Now the Hurricanes will look towards their superstar Daniel Cuvet, who has struggled all postseason, but his three-run homerun in game two of the Supers might have unlocked something in him.
However, the Cardinals have a monster in their dugout as well. Eddie King Jr. has been a destructive force this postseason, and his two-home run day against the Canes almost shipped the Canes back to South Florida.
"I can go on and on about these guys," Arteaga said after Saturday's win. "I love group, and we're playing at least one more day of baseball."
